Gina L. Storti, LCSW

Gina is a keen and dedicated counselor who has been in the field of social work for over 10 years. Gina received her Master of Social Work through Loyola University, Chicago. Gina has a passion for working with college-aged students, graduate students, and young professionals, moving through periods of change and/or transition. Gina has a strong background in treating mood/anxiety disorders, in both adolescents and adults. Gina has clinical experience at all levels of care, including inpatient hospitalization, residential, partial-hospitalization, and intensive-outpatient programming.

Gina believes deeply in the capacity of each person to enact change, to create a path toward the life that they hope to lead - a path where the journey is as fulfilling as each destination. Gina sees herself as a collaborator in the change process, by acting as a partner through exploration. She strives to foster an environment in which a person is able to feel safe, validated, supported, and heard. Equal parts serious and sensitive, sharp and soft, humorous and witty, Gina connects with each person as the unique, deep, and thoughtful individual that they are, reaffirming inherent worth from the start. Depression, anxiety, and any number of difficult relational or environmental experiences can leave a person feeling like they are in a place of darkness. It is Gina's hope to be able to restore a sense of power, self-efficacy, autonomy, and self-confidence. It is Gina's hope to be able to cultivate space for excitement, joy, contentment, and light.

Gina draws from a number of evidence-based treatment modalities, including: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR).
